Raleigh Money Expo: Volunteers Needed
With all dealer spaces sold and a waiting list in place, the club is preparing for a busy 2026 Raleigh Money Expo, June 26–28 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. Members and friends are encouraged to help with registration, setup and teardown, dealer check-in, food service, the club table, and activities for young numismatists. Registration is the area with the greatest need.
Club members who volunteer for at least two hours on qualifying tasks will receive a complimentary show raffle ticket. Volunteering can also count toward earning a Raleigh Coin Club challenge coin. Contact Jeff McCauslin if you would like to help.
Wilson Library at the Money Expo
The Wilson Special Collections Library at UNC–Chapel Hill will host a table at the Money Expo for the first time. The library holds an extensive numismatic collection and a permanent display, and maintains online exhibits on historic money and North Carolina currency. Visitors can meet Gallery Keeper Linda Jacobson on Friday and see the library’s display near the Raleigh Coin Club table.

A New History of the Dollar
Newsletter editor Bob Schreiner points readers to The Almighty Dollar: 500 Years of the World’s Most Powerful Money, by Brendan Greeley, published in May 2026. He invites members to explore the book and potentially contribute a review to a future newsletter.
Coin Hawks: A Pair of Twos
The Young Numismatist program turns its attention to the two-cent coin and the two-dollar bill—two unusual denominations with very different histories. The program will also continue the opportunity for young collectors to fill Lincoln cent albums.
Club Announcements
- Newsletter editor needed: Bob Schreiner plans to retire as editor at the end of 2026. The club is looking for someone to take over monthly newsletter production beginning in 2027.
